A devastating case.

A detective investigating the disappearance of Annie McCarrick now believes she may have died at the hands of a serial killer. Retired Det Garda Thomas Rock that the American native who vanished in the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains could be linked to other missing women, according to The Irish Sunday Mirror. New Yorker Annie was last seen on a trip to Enniskerry at the foot of the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains in March 1993 not long after she arrived in Ireland to study. While the answer to her disappearance remains a mystery, many theories have come up over the years and she has been linked to other missing Leinster women including Deirdre Jacob and JoJo Dullard. Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, Rock said: "It definitely wasn’t a coincidence that a number of different women travelling along the road went missing. “Now looking back, it looks like it could have been the same person. There were similarities between three of the women who went missing." Comparing her case to those of Deirdre Jacob and JoJo Dullard, Rock noted that they were all travelling along the same road when they vanished and that whoever is responsible knew not to leave a trace. Rock looks back on the case on RTE’s Scannal, showing how Gardaí initially investigated the case, and with no evidence at all, he added: “That definitely tells me that the person that carried out this crime was meticulous, and had thought the thing thoroughly through." 26 year old Annie was last seen alive on March 26, 1993 buying stamps in the post office in Enniskerry after she took a bus from her flat in South Dublin.
