Lisa McHugh has shared a positive update on her health after she was rushed to the hospital with sepsis.
Just last week, the country music singer was taken to the hospital as she had sepsis, which is a serious and often life-threatening complication that is caused by an infection.
The health scare caused Lisa to cancel her comeback show.
The Scottish star had been keeping fans updated from her hospital bed, asking for prayers and well-wishes for both herself and her family.
However, she has now taken to Instagram to share some positive news, revealing she is finally back home after her hospital stay.
Alongside a sweet picture of her with her two children, Milo and Hallie, Lisa wrote: "So happy to be finally home with my babies and feeling a lot better.
"Thank you for all the love and prayers."
Lisa's recent hospitalisation forced her to cancel her planned comeback concert.
“I want to reassure everyone that I’m in the right place and receiving the best care and treatment to help get things under control. I just need to take a little bit of time to rest and recover, but I will be absolutely fine,” she said in a statement at the time.
“I’m so disappointed to miss out on what was meant to be my first live show back, but I’m sure you’ll all have a fantastic night with Nathan [Carter] as always! I can’t wait to see you all very soon. Thank you for all your continued support and understanding — it truly means the world.”
Lisa has spent the past year battling serious health issues, at one point leaving her unable to walk.
She was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, a sudden and severe facial pain, earlier last year. She admitted she had “essentially burned myself out completely” while juggling work, touring, and family life at a time when her daughter Hallie was “in and out of the hospital.”
Last summer, Lisa was hospitalised after temporarily losing the ability to move both legs while also experiencing excruciating pain in her face and head. After extensive testing, Lisa was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition that affects how the brain and nervous system send and receive signals.
"I like to keep that mentality and try to keep that positivity, because the reality is it could always be worse. But I don’t want to take away from the fact that it has been really tough," she told RSVP Country.
"I was almost diagnosed overnight. I lost the power in both my legs, which felt so strange, but there was also a lot of pain involved. I had a bad flare-up of my trigeminal neuralgia, which I was diagnosed with earlier in the year, and it was a very bad flare-up.
"The pain distracted me from the fact that I couldn’t walk or use my legs. It wasn’t until I got home that I realised I was physically unable to do anything."
