Conor McGregor will get a chance to make history by becoming the first UFC fighter to hold two titles in two weight classes at once when he takes on Eddie Alvarez on November 12.
UFC president Dana White confirmed last night that McGregor will challenge Alvarez for his lightweight title at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden in two months time.

As our pals in SportsJOE point out, "everyone wins, except No.1 lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim featherweight champion José Aldo. White had insisted in recent weeks that McGregor would have to give up his featherweight strap to challenge Alvarez. He then claimed he was injured before once again wanting McGregor v Aldo to happen."
The full details about the November UFC card will be revealed at an official press conference at Madison Square Garden later today.
