Police have released CCTV footage showing a baby in a buggy being blown onto the train tracks on the London Underground.
The clip, from July, shows a man leaving the buggy at the bottom of the stairs before attending to other family members. When a train goes past, the wind carries the buggy and child right onto the live tracks.
The mother of the baby can then be seen rushing to get the buggy off the tracks moments before another train comes along.
Police are reportedly trying to trace down the couple in the video to make sure that the child did not suffer any injuries.
Chief Inspector Mark Lawrie said: “This was a frightening incident, not just for the scale of the danger the child was exposed to, but also because the woman then put her own life on the line by going onto the tracks”.
He added: “This incident shows just how much respect rail passengers should have for the network”.
