A property belonging to Sir Cliff Richard is currently being searched by police in relation to an alleged historical sex offence.
According to BBC News, Sir Cliff is not currently at the property and no arrests have been made. The singer is apparently in his home in the Algarve in Portugal.
A police spokesman said the allegation involved a boy under 16 and dated from the 1980s in the South Yorkshire area.
Police have also confirmed that the search is not connected to Operation Yewtree but officers from that operation have been notified.
South Yorkshire Police has confirmed it is currently searching the home in the Sunningdale area of Berkshire. According to the Daily Mail, a number of items have been taken from the property.
The police spokesman commented: 'Police have gained entry to a property in the Sunningdale area of Berkshire. Officers are currently searching the property.
"A search warrant was granted after police received an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s involving a boy who was under the age of 16 at the time."
