The boil water notice affecting parts of Dublin, Kildare, and Meath has been lifted.
Irish Water informed the public of the update this evening, stating that the notice - affecting 600,000 people - is no longer applicable.
Water restrictions had been in place for customers of the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant for over one week.
The Health Service Executive (HSE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Irish Water and Fingal County Council are now satisfied by the results of ongoing tests at the water treatment facility.
The area's second boil water notice was issued last week due to weather conditions.
"Due to heavy rain, turbidity (cloudy water due to suspended particles levels) in the source water for the old Leixlip Plant exceeded acceptable levels," said Irish Water at the time.
The notice has since been lifted with immediate effect.
