A baby has died from his injuries one week after his mother was killed crossing the road.
Luciano Newman passed away yesterday having suffered critical injuries when a car hit his pram on January 13. The eight-month-old and his mother, Nicole Newman, were crossing a road in south London when the incident occurred.
Ms Newman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, the driver of the car stopped. He has since been cooperating with police and has not been arrested.
He was also taken to hospital but was later discharged.
A Met Police spokesperson said:
"An investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident is ongoing and the driver of the car is co-operating with police.
"Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone with dash cam footage, including footage from the minutes leading up to the collision, to come forward."
