A new property study has revealed that Cavan and Killarney are the two areas which saw the biggest inflation of house prices in Ireland last year.
The average price of property in Cavan now stands at €195,000 according to the guide, which is a 20% increase on the previous year. The figures were part of a major property price study conducted by the Irish Independent.
The surge in pricing is not unique to Cavan nor Killarney, with prices on the rise pretty much across the board. Galway saw a 14% increase, Mayo saw a 10% increase, Leitrim saw a 15% increase and Westmeath saw a 12% increase.
Increases could also be seen in every postcode across County Dublin, with the central D8 in particular seeing a jump of 13%. Other areas, such as D4 saw smaller jumps of 4%, but the increases were fairly ubiquitous.
According to Newstalk, the only region not to see a rise in its average house prices was Limerick.
