*Content warning: This article contains references to domestic violence.* The family of Angel Lynn, a woman left with life changing injuries after she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, are hoping that the men responsible will see their sentences increased. Angel was carried to a van by her then boyfriend Chay Bowskill before she was discovered on a motorway near Loughborough, Leicestershire, in 2020 with life threatening injuries. Bowskill was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years and he and his accomplice's terms are now to be looked at by the Court of Appeal. The Leicester Crown Court heard that Angel was grabbed by Bowskill after a fight and taken into the van against her will before falling from the van as it was travelling at about 60mph (97km/h) along the dual carriageway and suffered severe brain injuries. Angel's mum Nikki told BBC Breakfast that the incident had impacted "all of our lives" and they had changed forever. Her aunt Jackie Chamberlain added that the family had decided to release photographs of Angel's injuries as a way of letting people see the seriousness of the situation.
