Great news.

Between lockdown and Covid restrictions, more and more of us are shopping online. For those who are especially vulnerable , it's particularly important that they can do all of their shopping online which is why it's fantastic news that Aldi launched their new click and collect service this week. The new Aldi click and collect service will allow customers to order their shopping online at least one day, and up to one week, prior to picking it up for a fee of €4.99. Click and Collect is currently available at Aldi's Sallynoggin store in Dublin but will soon be rolled out in up to 15 Aldi stores nationwide. This will include stores in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.   The popular supermarket chain also launched home delivery services last summer in a partnership with Deliveroo, but it only gave customers access to a slimmed down range of about 400 Aldi products. Aldi's new Click and Collect service however will have its own website which will sell almost all of their 1,800 products. Unfortunately, for those who love to browse the middle aisles (not going to lie it's one of my favourite things about going to Aldi), Aldi's special buys will not be available through the Click and Collect.   The new service is completely contactless and follows all current Covid safety guidelines and restrictions. When a customer arrives at a participating Aldi store at their allotted time to pick up their shopping, they will text a number supplied to them at the time of booking and park in a selected bay. This will alert a member of staff, who will then bring the customer's pre-packed order out to their car, very similar to picking up takeaway food at most food outlets.
