The 17-year old who went missing in a suspected abduction earlier this week said that she sought refuge in a takeaway after escaping her alleged kidnappers, the BBC reports. The French teenager was found alive about 10km from where she went jogging in the Mayenne region of France. She was taken to hospital where she was later questioned by police after being found in a restaurant on Tuesday. The Mayor of the town she was found in, Sablé-sur-Sarthe, said that she was in a state of "severe shock". Mayor Nicolas Leudière said of her recovery: "It's a huge relief for her and her family. She was found in a kebab shop." According to France Bleu, a public radio station, the teenager hid in a takeaway restaurant and told the owner that she had escaped from a "gang of kidnappers", who abducted her while she was out jogging. Prosecutors have launched a kidnapping investigation, but no further details on the case have been released. No one has been arrested in connection with her disappearance so far. A man who had been taken into custody on Monday night in relation to the case has since been cleared of suspicion. On Monday, over 200 police officers were deployed in a search for the teen, after her parents raised the alarm. Her father initially searched the area where she had gone running in and found some of her personal effects. Authorities, meanwhile, determined that her running app showed that she ran 1km before stopping, a diversion from her usual 5km loop around the forest. She has since been reunited with her family. The investigation into the girl's disappearance continues.
