The women of Ireland have been ranked among the top ten of the world's most attractive people for the first time. (We know, life dream has finally been ticked off.)

According to a new study by website BeautifulPeople.com we Irish lasses are a little bit of alright in the grand scheme of things.

The findings were revealed by dating website BeautifulPeople.com

Greg Hodge, who works for the dating site, told the Metro: "One reason for this dramatic climb in the women's rankings could be that we have had many more female applicants from Dublin relative to other cities."

(Stop making excuses Greg, it's because we're gorgeous.)

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for our male counterparts who were found to be the third ugliest.

The Swedes did well in both sexes, claiming the top spot in the men's rankings and second in the women's.

Women from Norway were deemed the most attractive with ladies from Iceland rounding out the top three. Brazilian and Danish lads finished off the top three for the men.
