Paddy’s Day isn’t normally the holiday we associate with whiteness but it could be this year.
As you probably found out yesterday, the week hasn’t gotten off to the warmest of starts with average temperatures around -1ºC to 2ºC.
Parts of the country were also hit with bitter winds as well as hail and snow showers throughout the day.
Unfortunately it doesn’t look as if we’re going to be blessed with the mild St Patrick’s Days we’ve come to expect as the cold is expected to continue for the rest of the week and over the weekend.
As if that's not bad enough showers are also forecast but whether they will come in the form of rain, hail or snow it’s anyone’s guess.
Although we doubt the weather will really dampen anyone's mood on Sunday but it might be worth throwing on a few extra layers just in case.
And if you really look on the bright side it’s not bad news at all, building snowmen sounds much better (and safer) than beer bottle pyramids!

St Patrick's Day looks set to be a chilly one this year!
