The pair chatted about how their trip had been so far, before Donie gave Oisin the chance to pop the question. "I love her so much I would like to do a special thing," he said. "Danielle, would you like to marry me?" Ahead of Biden's inauguration, hundreds took to the streets inciting violence in a pro-Trump rally that left some dead and many other injured. The Kerry man was praised on social media for his measured approach to the violence, and his ever calm demeanour as he pressed members of far-right groups about the chaos that had ensued during the siege. Donie began his career as a journalist in Storyful before moving to CNN, where he has worked for the past six years. He was nominated for an Emmy last year for his April 2020 story on military reservist Maatje Benassi's role at the centre of a patient-zero conspiracy theory. He joined Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show last year to discuss his career ahead of the release of an RTÉ documentary about his work.
