Loubna Khader decided she wanted to confront the driver who left her son brain damaged.
Five years ago she and her husband were driving along with their two-year-old son, Abdallah Khader, when Stewart Richardson crashed into their car. Her son, who is now seven, is unable to walk, talk or see because of the incident and requires around the clock care.
Recently Loubna made a decision to visit Richardson in jail, in Texas, where she confronted him about what he had done and showed him pictures of her son both before and after the crash.
The heated exchange was captured on camera as she wanted to raise awareness of her own struggles and the consequences of drunk driving.
Richardson has been in prison since the crash and is currently awaiting trial. According to the Daily Mail, legal proceedings have been stalled because the appeals court is considering whether to allow the prosecutor to use his prior drunk driving charges.
His alcohol blood level was reportedly three times the limit when he crashed into the Khader’s family car back in 2009.
