Come back boom time, all is forgiven.
The excesses of Race Week seem somewhat immune to recessionary woes, something which could not be captured any more perfectly than it was in an RTÉ broadcast yesterday.
As the reporter speaks to some bookies about the odds for an upcoming race, the gent in the background seems to be a little distracted by the rain. He then reaches his right hand (clad in some impressive looking gold rings) into his pocket, and pulls out a fresh fifty-euro note, used to thoroughly wipe his face.
How the other half live, eh?
