Here's how you can get active and raise money for a good cause too...

Now that the weather is finally improving and summer is well underway, we're all looking for new ways to get active outdoors. It's the perfect time to get moving, reach new fitness goals and enjoy some time outdoors with friends and family. And if you're looking to set yourself an active challenge and get fit this summer, we have the perfect opportunity for you... The Vhi Virtual Women's Mini Marathon is back for another year, and it's the perfect way to hit those fitness goals while raising funds for a charity you care about. The Vhi Virtual Women's Mini Marathon unites women all over Ireland every year and challenges them to walk, jog or run 10 km in aid of some worthy causes. Taking place on  Sunday, 19th September, the event will look a little different this year as, for the second year running, participants will take part virtually instead of gathering in Dublin. So this year, you can complete your 10 km distance wherever suits you, be it in your town, a nearby park or even on a local beach. As always, the event is open to all fitness levels and you can still take part with friends and family to support a charity you care about. It's the perfect way to join forces with women all across the country and be a part of something big! To get involved in this year's Vhi Virtual Women's Mini Marathon, here's what you need to do:

• Simply register to take part here.
• Then, choose a charity to raise funds for and encourage your friends and family to donate.
• Following that, all that's left to do is walk, jog or run a distance of 10 km on Sunday, 19th September, from wherever you are.
• Share your progress on the day with #VhiWMM.

The entry fee is €15 and, like in previous years, Vhi customers can claim this fee back through the Vhi app. Those who take part will also receive a race pack with loads of goodies including a Vhi T-shirt and a medal. And if you need some help preparing, there's loads of really handy resources for anyone who has registered to take part. You can get some expert training plans and nutritional advice here. You can also tune in to the Vhi Running Start podcast, which will feature a number of inspirational women like businesswoman Aimee Connolly, owner of Sculpted by Aimee, authors of the Complete Aisling series Sarah Breen and Emer McLysaght and sporting legend Cora Staunton. Each episode has a different duration to help you walk, jog or run all of your fitness milestones, from 2km to 10km. There's also a number of Vhi Virtual Women's Mini Marathon ambassadors who will be documenting their training regime in the lead up to the day.
