The selected individuals can live in any Airbnb listing, bring up to three companions - and even get paid to travel.

Airbnb is looking for 12 people to live anywhere for a year for free, and the selected individuals could even get paid to travel.

Inspired by the growing flexibility to work and live from anywhere, the company has launched a “Live Anywhere on Airbnb” programme which will allow 12 people to live exclusively in listings on Airbnb for a year.

The company is asking the selected individuals to share their experiences to help inform future product upgrades and innovations on the platform to better accommodate nomadic living. Airbnb will also cover the full cost of accommodations and provide an allowance for transportation for the duration of the programme.

The company is hoping that through the programme, participants will be able to provide "real-world insights on features, services, and the experience of living nomadically, that could help shape the future of long-term living on Airbnb".

The programme will be open to anyone from "young families to remote workers, creatives, empty nesters, and more" as they are "seeking a diverse set of 12 individuals". Applicants will need to be available to be part of the programme for 12 consecutive months from July 2021 to July 2022.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older and each participant will be allowed to bring up to three companions along.

Airbnb will also assist travellers with listing suggestions, local experiences, and more during the 12 month period.

Participants who choose to host their primary residence on Airbnb during the programme will also be able to test the experience of hosting while living nomadically, and potentially earn some extra money while they travel.
