Most of us play the Lotto with dreams of winning big. While you might hope for the best, it’s probably on the long list of imaginary life goals – like winning an Oscar or marrying Michael Fassbender. So Jacinta Hobbart was probably pretty surprised when she’d won the National Lottery’s Bigger Better Lotto Dream Holiday Competition. Choosing from a host of hotspots including a trip to the Carribean or India, Jacinta decided to take herself and her sister Mary on the ultimate shopping trip to New York. The busy mum, who works in retail, wanted to treat her sister Mary – celebrating the win with the pair’s first holiday in six years. Speaking about her win, Jacinta said: “The trip to New York immediately jumped out at me because I love all things fashion and I knew my sister Mary would love it too – she’s always dreamt of a holiday like this. “I couldn’t believe it when I received a message telling me that I’d won. I rang the National Lottery but was so overwhelmed I hung up as soon as someone answered! When I did eventually speak to someone, I burst into tears all over again!” While in New York, Jacinta and her sister Mary will be staying at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria on 5th Avenue, as well as gaining VIP behind-the-scenes access to the fashion designers themselves and, with €3,000 spending money included in the prize.
