We all know that Instagram is an art-form.
Whether it’s choosing the right angle, flicking on a switch, or knowing the best filter, according to Yahoo, knowing how to edit your screentime is the secret to racking up those instant hits.
Raking over more than 7 million Instagram photos, the team at Yahoo Labs and Georgia Tech found that applying a filter to your photos increases engagement with filtered photos being 21% more likely to be viewed.
The photoshopped perfection was also 45% more likely to receive a comment (probably pointing out how flawless you look).
So which end of the filter spectrum should be leaning towards?
If you’re looking for the ‘like’ factor, turn up the heat and select a warm exposure for your snaps – so opt for Mayfair, Valencia, Hefe, Nashville and Aden to flatter your selfies.
Want to look more sophisticated and professional?
A cooler tone or black and white was viewed as the most effective image for your career climbing ambitions.
