Relationships are a complex thing. Hence why there’s a million love songs that never seem to end with a happy ever after and the fact of the matter is, being in love takes a bit of work.
While this week we’ve been advised on the
most constructive way to have an argument (yes, it really does matter), there are smaller factors that can really add up to one half of a pair not feeling like they have the whole package.
Speaking to
The Huffington Post, psychotherapist Laura Young said that couple therapists usually find that a breakdown in effective communication is the root to most problems.
But what are we most dissatisfied with?
The five most common problems facing every relationship are:
- Not having fun together
- Being too busy
- Being too insensitive
- Being too sensitive
- Co-Dependency
We get that with hectic schedules, work commitments and general life, making time for your other half can sometimes be a challenge.
So what’s the answer to a happier outcome?
Plan a regular date night, giving you the option to talk about any concerns, or just blow off steam together.
Because as much as you need to make the effort with your other half, you should also be having fun.
You’ve already got a nine to five to worry about.
