The study found that the spiders typically dwell near shallow freshwater. Some are capable of swimming, diving and walking on the water's surface. Yes, that's what they found. They can walk on the surface of the water.
"Our evidence suggests that fish might be an occasional prey item of substantial nutritional importance," said Dr Nyffeler who worked on the study.
The spider normally anchors itself while raising its front legs ready to pounce on its prey. When it catches the fish, it pulls it from the shore and to a safe place where it feeds for several hours.
