They might have said goodbye to Simon and Will for the meantime but Inbetweeners stars Simon Bird and Joe Thomas are joining forces for their new series on Sky One this year.
The pair, who are also the writing brains behind the comedy entitled Chickens, are set to star alongside Jonny Sweet and Barry Humphries (also know as Dame Edna Everage) on the small screen.
Joe, Simon and Jonny wrote the comedy.
It is based around three young guys who opt to stay at home while the rest of the men go off to fight in the First World War.
Speaking about the show, the lads said: “We’re incredibly excited to be making Chickens for Sky One HD. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a brilliantly funny cast and hugely talented crew.”
The boys found fame after starring in The Inbetweeners.
Humphries is also said to be excited about the new project: “This is a wonderful opportunity for three of the funniest and most talented men in the Northern hemisphere to work with me.”
Chickens, which has already had its pilot shown on Channel 4 but wasn’t picked up by the broadcaster, is due to air on Sky One later this year.
