The age that people are at their most happiest has been revealed this week after a survey was carried out on over 2,000 people over 40s.
According to the results, the age of 34 is the happiest year for people on average. This is due to the fact that many people cited it as the year they got married, had kids and/or made advances in their career.
Thirty-four is also said to be the age when we are most comfortable in ourselves as we should be earning enough money to get on the property ladder and enjoy the finer things in life.
People who listed their 20s as the happiest time of their lives said it was due to freedom and the social life, while those who listed their 40s revealed they were happiest watching their children grow up and moving to a bigger home.
People in their 50s listed the fact that work was winding down and that they were paying off their mortgage.
“The results show the range of the many happy times experienced by people throughout the different stages of life,” said Nigel Fisher, MD of home security Yale.
“With the average age we’re most happiest coming out in the mid-thirties, it suggests that the feeling of being settled in your work and personal life while still looking to the future is important.”
One of the reasons that people felt the most happy was “meeting someone I fell in love with” which was seen in the 20s, 30s and 40s, while “getting married” was listed in every decade.
We wonder if 34-year-old celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Hollie Willoughby, Justin Timberlake and Channing Tatum agree?
