Between January 1980 and December 2014, at least 163,514 women and girls travelled from the Republic of Ireland to access safe abortion services in another country. 163,514 women. In this new series we want to tell as many of those women’s stories as possible. We’re sharing stories anonymously, publically, through audio, video and editorials in an effort to tell the holistic story of abortion in Ireland. In order to illustrate the anonymity of those 163,514 we are allocating numbers to each of the stories we share.
