A new survey by the ever morally-defunct IllicitEncounters.com has found that 48 percent of men admitted to cheating with someone close to home.
Now before you freak out and think all men are scum, know that IllicitEncounters.com is the UK’s leading dating website for married people. They surveyed over 700 married men but rest assured, the people who took the survey probably represent a fragment of society that are morally bankrupt.
Anyway, the one person that is most likely to steal your husbands affection is the nanny with 25 percent of men admitting that they had seduced your children’s carer.
Christian Grant, spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com said the appeal of the nanny could come down to convenience.
"An affair can sometimes be much more convenient when it's closer to home. While it might seem more difficult to cover up, given the risk of getting caught by your spouse, it's also a lot easier to fall for someone you already know," said Grant.
"It’s also a lot easier to organise, given that the nanny is likely to visit your house fairly often and probably lives nearby.”
"And if your wife happens to catch her name flashing on your phone, she's unlikely to be suspicious as to why you're messaging her - she's your children's nanny, you have a valid reason to be talking to her."
Grant continues to speculate that the nanny could represent what the wife looked like in her youth.
"Young and beautiful, the nanny could very well represent what these men’s wives once looked like in their youth, and having a younger version of their wife within touching distance is too great of a lure to resist."
"All you have to do is wait for the moment your wife inevitably slips out one evening to meet with friends and the rest takes care of itself; the nanny is the perfect Trojan horse," Grant said.
According to The Daily Star, other people likely to cheat with your husband include a long-term friend (18 percent), the housekeeper (17 percent), the sister-in-law (12 percent), the mother-in-law (10 percent) and a best friend’s partner (5 percent).
