Budweiser’s DreamBig campaign has us doing just that... Have you ever had an experience so dramatic that you wish you could watch it back in slow-motion on the big screen? Mine would be the moment I realised all of my worldly possessions were being dragged from the dark, wet dirt road and dumped onto the back of the wrong bus at the crowded border between Cambodia and Vietnam a couple of years ago. I’m pretty confident that the look of horror on my face, followed by the dramatic action sequence, would win me an Oscar. My best friend and travel buddy, also panicked as to the whereabouts of her precious rucksack, would be a shoe-in for Best Supporting Actress. Our arrival in Vietnam wasn’t exactly glamorous, but looking back now, it’s experiences like it that make me love travel so much. They’re the big, crazy moments that I know I'll take with me through life. Just 24 hours after our shaky start in a new country, as we explored a water village in the Mekong Delta, one of the charming locals serenaded us with a rousing rendition of Westlife's My Love. That’s another reason I love to travel; no matter what far-flung corner of the world you find yourself in, you never know when you’re going to come face-to-face with a welcome piece of home. I’ve had the travel bug for as long as I can remember, and I’ve jumped at every chance I’ve had to live, work and study abroad. Like most people with a touch of wanderlust, a huge part of the reason I love to travel is the chance to escape and explore. What could be better than waking up every day to see and do something entirely new? My travel wish-list is pretty extensive, but somewhere I’ve always dreamed of visiting is Hawaii. To spend a summer learning to surf in the sparkling waters of Maui, kicking back on the sandy beaches and taking dips in waterfall pools is my idea of paradise. Hawaii is my big travel dream.
