Once more to be sure… SPOILER ALERT!!
The fate of Darren in hit RTÉ series Love/Hate has been revealed.
When we last saw Darren, in the closing scenes of series three, he lay in a pool of his own blood after taking two bullets to the back of the head.
A hard blow for anyone to survive, naturally, but it wasn’t long before the disbelieving Internet fandom was abuzz with speculation that Darren would make a miracle recovery.
It was speculated that without Robert Sheehan the show would struggle to attract female fans, (somewhat insulting, no?), and there were multiple sightings of the actor with the Love/Hate cast and crew as they filmed season four recently.
Alas, the truth has been revealed, and it’s the end of the blue hoodied boy.
Stuart Carolan, creator of the series, appeared on Today FM this morning and confirmed that Darren will not live. Season four of the series has been wrapped, and Sheehan does appear, but the scenes will air as a dream. Fitting, as we suspect Robert Sheehan himself has appeared in many a dream…
It’s the end of an era with the loveable gangsters departure, but Sheehan’s star continues to rise. The actor is set to appear in the upcoming fantasy adventure movie ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’, based on the popular book.
Farewell Darren, thanks for the memories.
Hat tip to Niall O'Keeffe for sending this one our way on Twitter!
