After three years with national radio station Newstalk, popular weekend presenter Sile Seoige has been axed.
Thirty-four year old Sile has been at the helm of ‘Shenanigans with Sile’ since 2010, and through her battle with thyroid cancer last year, but yesterday news broke that her slot on the station would be taken over by Dragon’s Den stars Bobby Kerr and Sarah Carey next month.
The broadcaster, who previously presented an afternoon television show with her sister, recently spoke in interviews about her desire to make a return to the small screen.

According to The Irish Independent, station editor Garrett Harte said the move came about as an effort to satisfy listener preferences. He said; “We conducted extensive research into our listener trends and demands and our schedule changes reflect those results."
Sile has yet to comment publicly on the decision, but this morning took to Twitter to thank fans who expressed their dismay at the move.
Norah Casey, who recently announced she was leaving the station’s flagship breakfast programme, will return with a weekend show this September.
