Mature Audiences Only…
When the trailer for the latest Netflix Orignal series landed in our inbox this afternoon we were quite excited. Netflix hit pay dirt with their original series House of Cards, which we’re loving, so we’re all about another offering to sink out teeth into.
However - we were NOT expecting this. Hemlock Grove is billed as a “riveting and eerie mystery” from executive producer Eli Roth and based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name.
So the blurb goes;
The series revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell. Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems.
The series will be available for Netflix members to watch instantly and in its entirety from this Friday, 19 April 2013, and according to Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, it’s “unlike anything else in its genre”. He described the show as “sexy, gripping, emotional and twisted” and claimed he was “certain viewers are going to be captivated by its intensity.”
That’s one word. We’ve watched the trailer four times now and we still can’t get over the warning. The red band trailer is restricted to mature audiences only, for:
“Mild fornication, fellatio, heavy cocaine use, lesbian necrophilia, violent hemorrhaging”.
