A rare albino penguin has stepped out at a zoo in Poland this week, much to the delight of many.
The extremely uncommon animal arrived on the Gdansk Zoo scene late last year born to penguin parents who, unlike their baby, possess the typical tuxedo like marks often associated with their breed.
Their baby, however, was different.
According to Associated Press, the penguin's white features would have caused trouble for him had he been born in the wild because the other penguins would have rejected him.

"(He) would have become the very first to be attacked by predators," sad zoo director Michal Targowski.
Luckily, in Gdansk Zoo, the albino penguin is safe in an enclosure with his parents and two other penguins who want nothing more but to look after him and treat him like one of their own.
Which is lucky for him, because he will actually need more care and attention due to his condition.
Targowski said that because of its pigmented skin, the penguin is prone to more diseases than its tuxedoed counterparts and will therefore need special care from zoo-keepers.
We wish him the best of luck.
