The best boy.
Hedgehogs are cute.
They are. Don't refute the fact. It is true.
They're all spiky and small and brown and other factors that also mean that they are definitely cute and not scary or inconsequential in any way.
The only thing that's potentially cuter than a regular old hedgehog is a rare albino hedgehog. Because they're rare and albino.
Obviously.
The rare albino hedgehog in question is one called Nic (short for Sonic the Hedgehog, get it?), and he was found wandering around a garden in California earlier this month.
The hedgehog was then rescued by Riverside County Department of Animal Services and sent to live in an animal shelter - because apparently it's illegal to own a hedgehog in California.
"“Nic — short for Sonic — has left the building," they said on Facebook, alongside a fairly adorable video of the hedgehog.
"The hedgehog was reportedly found in a Riverside backyard a little more than a week ago.
"The cute critter — illegal rocks own in California — was picked up by one of our awesome rescue partners that is licensed to care for exotic pets, MeoowzResQ."
Godspeed, friend.
The footage shows Nic being held in a blanket, moving around the blanket, and then stretching up to boop the woman who's holding him's face.
It's good and you should watch it.
Enjoy.
