Rabbit Breeders Are Seriously Ticked Off At Pope Francis… Yes, Really!

That's a headline we never thought we'd have to type but it seems that Pope Francis has earned himself a new enemy... Rabbit breeders.  The head of the Catholic church shared a few pearls of wisdom earlier in the week while returning on a flight from the Philippines. The 78-year-old aired his views on large families to a group of journalists after a Filipina woman revealed she risked her life to give birth to her eighth child by C-section. "Some think, excuse me if I use the word, that in order to be good Catholics, we have to be like rabbits - but no,” he said. His advice wasn't appreciated in Germany. Erwin Leowsky, President of the Association of German Rabbit Breeders, believes that the Pontiff making the comparison between loveable fluffy animals and fertile Catholics was a tad unfair. Speaking to the Telegraph, Erwin said: "He should really think harder about giving up expressions like that and allow people to use contraception instead. I think it would be much more appropriate than saying such stupid things." Erwin went onto explain that rabbits in the wild are the risqué and unfortunately give the rest of them a bad reputation.
