Speaking to My Domaine, she explained:
"Accept the process you're going through and be good to yourself. As with most things in life, the best approach is to be kind to yourself no matter what you're going through".If you let yourself feel sad and then try to distract yourself with activities and socialising, you can feel the benefit of this according to Sherry.
"Most people do best when they alternate between letting themselves feel the sadness and grief and then distracting themselves with fun, work, friends, and activities".Talking to friends is key but it's also important to let them distract you with other topics and things to do so that your mind isn't constantly concentrating on the relationship breakdown. So there you go, if you're going through a breakup or know someone who is, keep the above advice in mind...it makes a lot of sense.
