Primark, the parent company of Penneys, has said that it will compensate the victims and the families of those affected by the Bangladesh factory collapse.
In a statement released yesterday the retailer said it would be providing both short and long-term aid: "We have partnered with a local NGO to address the immediate needs of victims... We will also pay compensation to the victims of this disaster.
"This will include long-term aid for children who have lost parents, financial aid for those injured and payments to the families of the deceased.
The company added: "We are fully aware of our responsibility. We urge these other retailers to come forward and offer assistance."
The news comes as rescue officials said that it is unlikely they will find any more people. The death toll has already exceeded 380 people.
Mohammed Sohel Rana, the owner of the building, has also been arrested along with seven others. Police are said to be looking for another factory boss.
