You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d woken up in December.
The past few days have forced us back into our winter wear, and with snow last Friday, it seems we’re not finished with our woollies just yet.
According to Met Éireann, there could be a risk of snowfall as early as Tuesday.
The weather forecaster has already pointed to the seasonal timing being a lot colder than what is normally expected at this time or year, and with temperatures set to drop to -1 to 3C tonight, with highs of just 6 to 8C tomorrow, we’re already feeling a chill in our bones.
But Tuesday will see the onset of snow, with promises of heavy rain across the country, followed by sleet.
The forecast continues:
“The rain will fall as sleet in places before the night is over with some snow possible in places too, especially on high ground.”
If you can hold out until Thursday, you could even be rewarded with drier conditions and temperatures of 10C.
We’ll look forward to removing one of our extra layers for the weekend so…
