The saying goes that a picture is worth a thousand words, but this one is completely priceless.  Police office Raleigh Callaway was blessed with an incredible gesture from a stranger after he posed for a picture with his wife and the couple's daughters, while the children held a sign that read "Our daddy needs a kindey!". The shoot was the brainchild of his wife Kristi and photographer Brandy Angel took the shots, which captured public imagination. Callaway, 53, was battling stage five kidney failure when the picture was posted to Facebook and went viral. Hundreds of kind-hearted strangers offered their help, among them Chris Carroll. Carrol, a health care consultant, ended up being a match for Raleigh and offered to donate a kidney to save Callaway's life. He said: "When I saw Raleigh's story, saw pictures of the girls and everything, and it hit me." "That's what kind of surprised me a little bit, there was never a doubt. I mean, it's like if my own dad needed a kidney. That's how strongly I felt. Speaking to USA Today, he added: "I just knew. Even though there were thousands of people who called in. I just had a feeling that was going to happen." The transplant operations were carried out last month successfully. Both men have since been released from hospital and Callaway is expected to be in a position to return to work within the next three months.
