A new meme going round on Twitter is causing a whole load of people to properly mess up their thumbs, because we're all idiots.
It's a bit like when you're told a plate is hot, so immediately touch it, or how you really, really want to press any button that says "do not press" on it – for some reason we just can't resist an opportunity to do something stupid for absolutely no good reason whatsoever.
But this latest trend has got people actually full-on ripping their thumb ligaments, and it all started from this tweet from

He dropped a pic into a Facebook chat with his mate that shows you how to break your thumb ligament "if you are bored", and tried to get his friend to try it.
And obviously his mate was bored, because he took almost no convincing to do exactly that.
Yep, he willingly did THIS to his thumb.
@RahSenpai's tweet already has more than 49,000 retweets, and has also encouraged a whole bunch of people to try the exact same thing in the replies.
Is trying this an extremely stupid idea? Yes. Do I kind of want to try it just to see if it really works? Also yes. And are you going to go away now and try to make your mates do it? Almost certainly.
We'd advise you not to, but clearly there's no point, is there?
