— LOHS Yearbook (@LosOsosYearbook) May 7, 2016They released a statement saying they are working to rectify the situation. Principal Petrocelli claimed there was a student named Isis Phillips in the school previously but that they are still investigating the matter. “If there is a student that has responsibly and intentionally committed this, we will take the appropriate action that is necessary,” she said to Islamic Monthly. Still, Twitter users are horrified that such a mistake could occur.
@LosOsosHigh so that's your official statement? It's a 'mis-print?' — Adam Minter (@AdamMinter) May 8, 2016
@LosOsosYearbook if you really try to make this out to be some random mistake, then you are still failing to keep your students safe.

@LosOsosYearbook This was deliberate. You don't mistake "Bayan" for "Isis". You just don't. Shame on the person responsible for this.... — Mian Mir Qadree (@MianMirQ) May 8, 2016
@LosOsosHigh What the fuck is wrong with you? That's pure racism.

@LosOsosHigh We live in an era where schools can electronically ✔️ plagiarism, grammar, etc. This is a failure of leadership, on your watch! — Ms. Justice (@soulful_chica) May 8, 2016
@LosOsosYearbook If you misspelled the kid's name, it would be a mistake. This is negligence &racism. You should be ashamed.
