If you can't resist a sneaky glass of vino, and have a bit of sweet tooth for pick'n'mix, then you might want to take a seat and compose yourself.
A "luxury candy boutique" in New York called Sugarfina has created a line of gummi bears (that'd be fruit gums, or jelly babies to us) that are infused with rosé wine.
The sweets are due to go on sale in the next week, and such is the demand already that the brand's Manhattan store already has a waiting list of over 400 people dying to get their hands on the, erm, wine gums.

They're clearly aimed at a certain upmarket demographic: Sugarfina emphasises that the sweets are flavoured with "Hamptons-favourite Whispering Angel rosé", and that they make for "the perfect shoreside treat".
Indeed, Uproxx reports that consumers will have to fork out $8.50 (€7.50) for a 3.9 ounce “cube” of the sparkling sweets. One pound of them will cost about €32.

These prices shouldn't come as a shock for anyone who regularly shops at Sugarfina. As DNAInfo point out, "the store features 130 different types of candies — including chocolates shaped like martini olives and marshmallows dipped in 24K gold."
But while we can't all be loaded socialites whiling the summer away on the beaches of the Hamptons, we can only hope these fancy treats make their way over here as soon as possible, so we can enjoy them at the cinema or binge-watching Orange Is The New Black.
Or during your lunch break when you might need a bit of a pick-me-up.
Speaking of, if you're living in New York, or perhaps doing a J1 summer over there, Sugarfina is hiring at the moment - so you can scoff away at as many of the wine gums as you like on the sly.

Meanwhile, it seems there's a growing market for unlikely wine-flavoured foodstuffs. DJ Khaled likes to pour champagne over his fruit salad - which seems like a cracking idea, to be honest.

And a rapper named Tru Life seems to be a fan of pouring rosé over his cereal.

And if his Instagram is to be believed, he could be bringing out his own version of rosé Cheerios called 'Rosénios'.
