You don’t really need a weather warning to tell you it’s not the best day to be out and about but even still it’s worth knowing that the bad conditions are set to continue.
Met Éireann has warned that strong winds are expected, reaching up to 130km/h in some areas, and flooding is possible.
Tomorrow afternoon and evening will see the worst of it with “occasionally heavy, squally, thundery downpours of rain”.
The weather service has issued orange alerts for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry. Yellow alerts are also in place for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Roscommon.
In other words, a night in might be the best option (we’d recommend a bottle of wine and a good film) and if you are heading out, please do take care.
