Ghosting is awful.

It's one of those dating trends that can hit really hard especially if you've fallen for the person that has straight-up erased you from their life. It was all going so well and poof! it's over. It sucks and it's a horrible way to treat someone - however, this might be worse. As shown by Twitter user and MTV journalist Eric Dimitartos, this trend is far more controlling. Eric shared a screenshot on social media of a message exchange and captioned it: "*Goes on first date, scared he’ll ghost but instead gets this text*." Here it is:

Yeah. Way worse. Everyone called out the exchange for being extremely toxic, never mind exceptionally creepy. It caused outrage on Twitter, with many people saying it is a major red flag:
