This is lovely.

OK, so I might be biased being a proud Corkonian woman but this feature written by the New York Times truly sums up the place beautifully. Written by travel journalist, Brendan Spiegel, he takes in some sights, food, shopping and of course, beer. Listing his three days, Brendan plucks out some of his favourite things Cork has got to offer. In terms of food, he pays particular attention to The Rocket Man for healthy brekkie, Iyer's for a dinner with a difference (beautiful hidden gem of Indian cuisine), Bulman and Bastion in Kinsale, Cask, Alchemy (delish coffee) and of course, well-known Miyazaki. In terms of beautiful sights, Brendan goes into the details of his travels to UCC and the Triskel Arts Centre describing it as "where guests settle into pews under a soaring ceiling and stained glass windows for film screenings and live musical performances." On his brief travels, Brendan also made time for the pubs and a bit of shopping, visiting Elbow Lane Brew & Smoke House for a crafted pint and stopping at Salingers and Mother Jones Flea Market for a fashion fix. Overall - Brendan describes his new found grá for Cork and describes it perfectly by stating it as a city full of heritage and growing population, where food and drink play a large part of our booming industry.
