It seems women have double standards when it comes to dating.

A sex survey by Glamour interviewed over 1000 women, many of whom revealed that they identify as a sexuality beyond the confines of straight, gay or bisexual. "Many young women no longer feel they have to choose one sexuality or identity," says Ritch C. Savin-Williams, Ph.D., director of the Sex & Gender Lab at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. "Today, many invent their own terms." The survey reveals that 63% of women believe sexual orientation can change. Almost half of the respondents said they had at one point been attracted to another woman and 31% revealed that they had had sexual experiences with someone of the same sex. However, despite the liberation of their own sexuality, 63% of women revealed they could never date a man who has had sex with another man. "This suggests that these women hold on to the view that while women occupy a wide spectrum of sexuality, men are either gay or straight," says Savin-Williams. The survey, worryingly, suggests that women are less inclined to support bisexual men. Our wonderful and article bro at JOE.co.uk, Kevin Beirne recently wrote about the tribulations of bisexual men. “As a teenager and young adult, I struggled to accept myself because I realised that I am part of a very exclusive club -  I am a bisexual man,” he writes. “While I'm happy to have come out, there are a few little annoyances about it now. Once people find out I am bisexual, they tend to get a bit inquisitive, and I find myself answering the same kinds of questions over and over.” Kevin reveals that when he reveals he’s bisexual, many people assume that he’s gay. “If I wanted to come out as gay, I would have come out as gay. It would actually be a lot less confusing,” says Kevin. “There's nothing wrong with being gay, but when we label bisexual men as gay (see: Mercury, Freddie) we make it more difficult for young men to come to terms with their sexuality and lead a happy and healthy life.” Simply put Kevin says: “I'm attracted to people of all genders. It makes waiting for a bus much more entertaining.”
