A man apparently pretended he was kidnapped so that he wouldn’t have to face his girlfriend.
Rahmell Pettway, who lives in New York, reportedly told the authorities he had been taken away by two men in a minivan before being bound and gagged with duct tape when they found him walking the streets looking worse for wear.
The authorities questioned him about where he had been.
But it wasn’t long before the actual truth came out as the 36-year-old still had traces of the duct tape on his hands.
Pettway soon admitted that he had staged the whole abduction so that he wouldn’t have to face his girlfriend who he hadn’t called for a fortnight. The reason for his disappearance is still unknown.
The man ended up in handcuffs for lying to the police.
Police, who have arrested him 14 times before for a range of different charges, arrested him for filing a false report according to the New York Post.
Bet he’s wishing he had just gone home to his other half now!
