The defender in the case spoke about the incident, saying that it was “obviously a bizarre set of circumstances” and that his client was “apologetic for his actions”.
“He is at a loss to explain his behaviour. He was under an enormous amount of pressure from work. He seems to have simply lost the plot. He’s appalled and grossly embarrassed.”
Lost the plot. Fair.
The man was apparently driving from London to Holyhead, where he hoped to get a ferry to Ireland, when the incident occurred.
