It can go one of two ways for most girls attending the debs, either you have everything organised before the big day or you leave everything until the last minute. Unfortunately most of us in Her.ie towers fall into the latter bracket and encountered a few problems along the way...
1. You have no dress.
You were always the cool girl at school so you refused to panic about getting a dress. However, now the week of the debs has rolled around and there is a severe lack of dresses in the shops. As well as that, it's too late to order online. When do I start panicking?
2. Your best friend has the same dress.
The debs day is a bit like your wedding day so you don't tend to reveal the dress until the last minute. The curiosity got the better of you, and it really is a stroke of luck that you checked. Same dress woes.
3. You didn't make a hair appointment.
Sure, there's only about a thousand different debs going on around the country. You definitely won't need to make that appointment until the last minute... Mam, can you curl my hair please?
4. Nor did you make a make-up appointment.
"Mam, you need to help me. You need to make this look as professional as possible."
5. You did NOT test the fake tan before you put it on.
God, they really meant oompa loompa when they said it, didn't they?
6. You don't have a strapless bra.
Oh, but you have a strapless dress, don't you? But you definitely HAD a strapless bra.
7. You bought your dress at the start of the summer, but you ate some extra ice-cream.
Oh God, did the zip just pop? Well if Liz Hurley can pull of the safety pin look, anyone can.
8. You took up a healthy eating regime, and now your dress is too big.
Where am I going to get this taken in before the debs? Don't panic. MAM!
9. You have no date/you just broke up with your boyfriend.
You definitely can't and shouldn't panic about this. That's what friends are for...
