We’ve been kind of spoilt this summer, what with the sunshine and high temperatures, but that doesn’t soften the blow that autumn is well and truly on its way.
Apparently, and you’ve no idea how much it pains us to say it, today is the last of the nice weather.
Met Éireann said earlier this week that today will see a mixture of sunny spells and cloudy conditions but that come the weekend the rain will arrive.
Forecaster Pat Clarke told the Irish Independent: “The high values (from earlier in the week) won’t be repeated over the coming days and there will be more rain and unsettled weather over the weekend.”
Although we’re not the only ones in for a change. Apparently Britain is also due to be hit with colder and wetter conditions.
“The nice weather in Britain will disappear fast and there will be sort of a culture shock as the temperature regime will change... as unsettled weather develops over Britain over the next few days, it will make its way to us,” Clarke added.
Temperatures for the coming days are expected to range between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius with rain showers coming in from the east.
So, if you haven’t left the house already, today could be the last chance you get this year to wear those sandals!

Have the umbrella ready, rain is on the way this weekend.
