Liam Neeson Not Taken With the Idea of a Third Film

Liam Neeson was willing to return to the big screen for Taken 2 but has said that the franchise will not be made into a trilogy.

The Ballymena-born actor, who stripped on Ellen yesterday, has said that he can’t see it going beyond the second film which hits theatres this weekend.

When asked about the chance of a third instalment, Liam said: “I don’t think so. No, I think we’re finished, that’s it. Mind you, I thought we were finished with the first one.”

He also told the Den of Geek website that nobody predicted the level of success that the first film received.

Taken was an unprecedented success for all involved.

“We were all pleasantly surprised, because the film came out in France first, and it was reasonably successful. And then the next territory we opened in was South Korea, and it was phenomenally successful. And then you could download it on your computer.

“And I thought, that’s the end of that. It’s finished, you know? But Fox Studios in America took it in January 2009 and did this phenomenal PR job,” the 60-year-old explained.

Taken 2 is out this weekend and sees Bryan Mills (Neeson) and his family targeted by the relatives of the men that he killed in the first film. Anybody else super-excited to see it?
