Embarrassing moments – we all have them and when we’re dehydrated we tend to have even more of them. This is because dehydration causes us to lose our mental focus and do silly things.
For the next six weeks we’re teaming up with Deep RiverRock to have a look at some of the most embarrassing things that can happen to us and, more importantly, how to recover from these awkward instances.
You can recover from any mortifying moment, but if you’d like to try and avoid them completely, it’s worth keeping yourself hydrated so your wits are always in tip-top condition.
Remember: the human body is made up of at least 60 per cent water. So stay hydrated and keep your cool no matter what happens!
___________
That awkward moment when... you have a really mortifying make-up mishap

"Put lipstick on without a mirror? No problem!"
A wise person once said that you should never do your make-up in a rush. This person was totally spot-on, however sometimes you’re caught out and you have to throw on a bit of foundation/mascara/whatever on the go.
Make-up mishaps are annoying, mainly because you don’t notice them until it’s too late. Case in point? Imagine you’re in the pub with your friends and you decide to nip to the ladies and freshen up. You’re a little tired and you’re not thinking straight because you’re slightly dehydrated.
There’s no mirror in the bathroom and it’s too dark to see your reflection in your phone. You decide to put on a bit of lipstick anyway – sure haven’t you done it a million times before?
You head back into the pub and notice that you’re getting a few odd looks. You sit down at the table and all of a sudden your friends are in hysterics and taking pictures left, right and centre. Eventually they feel bad for you and tell you that you’ve had a lipstick-related accident. You grab a compact mirror off one of them and realise that you’re less Kate Moss, more Krusty the Clown. Morto!
How to cope:
You can do two things here. You can laugh it off and make a joke out of the entire thing (it is a little funny after all, right?) or you can calmly ask your friends if they have a make-up wipe. If they don’t, politely excuse youself, put your hand over your mouth and head back to the bathroom. Get some toilet tissue, wet it and rub your lips until the tissue doesn’t have any lipstick left on it.
When you return to the table tell your friends that it was funny but if they put the pictures on Facebook you’ll dig out the most embarrassing ones you have of them and return the favour.
It might be a good idea to order a pint of water as well, just so you can rehydrate yourself enough to get your wits back on track.
When you can’t think straight... hydrate.
